Foundations & Slabs

Engineered slabs built to handle North Texas clay soil movement.

North Texas clay soil expands when it's wet and contracts when it dries out, and it does this every year, in every season. A foundation that isn't engineered for that movement will eventually crack, and once a slab cracks, the fix only gets more expensive over time. This is the single biggest factor we design around on every foundation and slab project in Dallas.

We pour both post-tension slabs, which use steel cables tensioned inside the concrete to resist cracking as the ground shifts beneath it, and conventional rebar-reinforced slabs, depending on what the engineering calls for and what the project needs. This includes new home foundations, room additions, detached garages, and shop or workshop floors.

Every foundation project starts with proper site evaluation and grading, includes correctly placed drainage to move water away from the slab, and is built to current City of Dallas and North Texas building code.

Our Process

How It Works

01

Soil Assessment & Engineering

We evaluate soil conditions and, where needed, work with a structural engineer to size the foundation correctly.

02

Excavation

The site is excavated and graded to the engineered depth and slope.

03

Grade Beam / Form

Grade beams and forms are set to define the foundation footprint and structural profile.

04

Rebar & PT Cables

Reinforcement is placed — rebar for conventional slabs, or post-tension cables for PT foundations.

05

Pour

Concrete is poured, consolidated, and finished to the correct elevation and slope.

06

Cure

The slab cures under controlled conditions to reach full design strength before framing begins.
